AI Video Enhancer: Measured Before and After
Bring a video you already have. BINAI measures it, repairs what is actually wrong and shows you the score before and after.
Open BINAI- You give
- An MP4, MOV or WebM you bring; it does not have to be made in BINAI
- You get
- The repaired file as a project, with the score before and after
- Plan
- All paid plans; the AI upscaler on Business and Studio
- Cost
- The measured corrections use no credits; the AI upscaler is about 6 credits per second of video
How it works
- 1
Choose a video
Pick a video from your phone or computer. It does not need to have been made in BINAI.
- 2
Say what it is for
Pick a preset such as Phone clip for social or Restore old footage, or leave it on Measure and decide. Set the resolution and frame rate you want to deliver.
- 3
Measured, repaired, measured again
BINAI scores the file, runs only the corrections it needs in a single pass, then scores the result. If it is not better, you keep the original.
- 4
Open it as a project
The repaired video lands in your library as a project you can open, cut and caption in the editor like anything else.
What it does
A score you can read
The score out of 100 is split into Detail, Clean picture, Light and colour, Steadiness and Sound, each with the measurement behind it.
Kept only if it is better
If the pass raises the score by less than 1.5 points, BINAI throws it away, keeps your original and tells you why.
Twelve possible corrections
Grain, compression blocks, banding, softness, exposure, colour, camera shake, choppy motion, resolution, AI upscaling, loudness and clipped peaks. Most can be left on Auto, forced on or switched off.
Five presets for common jobs
Measure and decide, Restore old footage, Phone clip for social, Product and e-commerce, and AI-generated video. A preset sets the switches; you can still change them.
Sound levelled for platforms
Loudness is brought to about -14 LUFS with headroom on the peaks, where YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Spotify play audio after their own normalisation.
AI upscaler when detail is missing
On Business and Studio you can add Topaz's video upscaler, the one step that rebuilds detail the file never had. Its price in credits is shown before you start.
What is an AI video enhancer, and how is BINAI's different?
An AI video enhancer takes a video you already have and tries to make it look and sound better: less grain, sharper edges, steadier picture, better light, cleaner sound. Many tools run the same treatment on every file and simply say it was enhanced. A clean 1080p clip run through a blanket filter often comes back softer and waxier than it went in.
BINAI's enhancer works the other way round. It measures first, decides what the file actually needs, does only that, and then measures again with the same code on the new file. If the new version does not score higher, BINAI keeps your original and says why. "Nothing needed doing" is a real answer, not a failure.
How does BINAI measure video quality?
The score is out of 100 and made of five parts, each shown with the measurement behind it:
- Detail (30% of the score): how sharp the picture is.
- Clean picture (22%): grain, compression blocks and banding in skies and gradients.
- Light and colour (14%): exposure, contrast and saturation.
- Steadiness (14%): camera shake and stutter.
- Sound (20%): loudness, peaks, dead air and background noise.
So a score is never just a number. It reads like "the detail is fine, the sound is too quiet and there is banding in the sky", which tells you what will change before anything is touched.
Which corrections can it make?
There are twelve possible steps, and only the ones your video needs are planned:
- Grain and sensor noise removed
- Compression blocks smoothed out
- Banding broken up
- Edges brought back
- Exposure and contrast opened up
- Colour brought back to life
- Camera shake taken out
- Motion made smooth
- Resolution raised
- Detail rebuilt by the upscaling model
- Sound levelled to what platforms play at
- Peaks pulled back under distortion
Ten of them have their own switch with three positions: Auto (the measurement decides), On (do it anyway) and Off (leave it alone). Resolution follows the size you pick, and the upscaling model has its own checkbox because it is the only step with a price.
The order matters, and BINAI handles it: noise is removed before anything is sharpened, because sharpening grain only makes it worse. Brightness is raised through contrast and gamma rather than a plain brightness lift, which avoids the milky look of a typical auto-enhance. All the free corrections run as one pass with a high-quality encode, so the file is not degraded by several re-encodes in a row.
Which preset should I pick?
- Measure and decide: the default. It does only what the file measures as worth doing, including nothing.
- Restore old footage: removes grain, blocking and banding and brings colour back. It asks for the upscaler when the picture is really soft.
- Phone clip for social: steadied, brightened and levelled, delivered at 1080p.
- Product and e-commerce: sharp and clean at up to 4K, with colour left honest so your product is not graded into a different one.
- AI-generated video: deals with the two things generated clips often have, repeated frames and softness.
You can deliver at 720p, 1080p, 1440p or 4K, and at the source frame rate or 24, 30 or 60 frames per second. Above the source rate, new frames are interpolated rather than repeated.
What does the AI upscaler add, and who has it?
Without a model, raising the resolution does not invent detail. It is still worth doing, because platforms encode a 1080p upload better than a 720p one. When a video is genuinely soft, the AI upscaler (Topaz's video upscaler) can rebuild detail that was never in the file.
The upscaler is available on the Business and Studio plans. It costs about 6 credits per second of video, and the amount is quoted before the job starts. If your balance is too low, you are told before anything runs. If the upscaler is unavailable for any reason, the free corrections still run and the report says the upscaler was skipped. See plans and credits.
Honest limits
- A badly out-of-focus or very low-resolution video can be improved, not rescued. The score after tells you how far it moved.
- Motion smoothing is the slowest step, so BINAI only plans it on its own for clips of 30 seconds or less.
- Enhancing does not fix the content itself. A slow opening, captions that disappear too fast or music you have no rights to are things the content check looks at, and the editor is where you change them.
- Running the same pass twice on the same file with the same choices is answered from the first result, not charged again.
What happens after the enhance?
The repaired video becomes a project in your library, with the score before and after. From there you can open it in the editor to trim it, add captions or text, and download it. Before posting, it is worth working through a social reach checklist: a clean, steady video with sound at the right level is easier to watch, which helps, but how far a post travels is always up to the platform. If you are preparing product footage, the guide to AI product videos covers what else makes them work.
Who it is for
Shops and product sellers
Sharpen a product clip for a listing at up to 4K while the Product preset leaves colour alone, so the item still looks like what you ship.
Creators filming on a phone
Steady a handheld clip, open up the light and level the sound before posting it as a Reel, Short or TikTok.
Businesses with old footage
Clean grain, blocking and banding out of an old promo or event video and deliver it at a size platforms encode well.
Anyone using AI video
Smooth out repeated frames and bring back edges on a generated clip with the AI-generated video preset.
Frequently asked questions
What does an AI video enhancer actually do?
It reads your video and fixes common defects: grain, compression blocks, banding, softness, dull light or colour, camera shake, choppy motion and badly levelled sound. BINAI's enhancer measures each of these first and only applies the corrections the measurements call for, then measures again so you can see whether the video really improved.
Can I improve the quality of a video I did not make in BINAI?
Yes. Enhance a video takes any MP4, MOV or WebM from your phone or computer, wherever it was filmed or edited. BINAI measures it, repairs it and saves the result as a new project in your library, where you can trim it, add captions and run the content check before posting.
What happens if my video is already good?
BINAI tells you so and leaves it alone. If nothing measures badly enough to be worth a pass, no new file is made. If a pass runs but raises the score by less than 1.5 points out of 100, the result is thrown away and the original is kept, because every re-encode costs a little quality.
Can BINAI upscale a video to 1080p or 4K?
You can deliver at 720p, 1080p, 1440p or 4K. Raising the size without a model does not add detail, but it is still useful because platforms give a 1080p upload a better encoding than a 720p one. On Business and Studio the AI upscaler can rebuild detail in a genuinely soft video.
How much does it cost to enhance a video?
The corrections BINAI measures and applies itself use no credits, on any paid plan. The only step with a price is the AI upscaler on Business and Studio, at about 6 credits per second of video. The amount is shown before you start, and you are stopped first if your balance does not cover it.
Will enhancing a video help it get more reach?
It removes problems that make a video harder to watch, such as shake, noise or sound that is too quiet, and platforms tend to show easy-to-watch videos to more people. It cannot promise reach. For that, run BINAI's content check too, which looks at rights, rules, captions and the opening seconds.
